Dear Chris,
The card of the Fool is an energy of new beginnings and new situations or opportunities that can come into your life.  And when it comes to relationships and the Fool, it's not a "foolish" energy as the title of the card may seem to be . . . but it's like looking through the eyes of a child and seeing the wonder in new things -- and people -- that you encounter.  When it comes to new relationships that you will likely find in the near future, you'll be able to choose the ones that are right for you, and you'll choose the kind of relationship that allows you to be yourself -- which is the only authentic way to live.

Because the Fool signifies new adventures, it can denote the start of a new relationship in your life.  However, it's the kind of relationship that cannot be rushed or hurried along -- or changed into what it's not meant to be.  The Fool is not a card of commitment, at least not immediately, but when the Fool energy is ready to commit, it does so wholeheartedly.  In a brand new relationship, it signifies you and/or the other person will want to make the right choices and will do so by following what is truly within the heart -- once it is known exactly what that is.  Thus, any new relationships that you encounter in the near future should be taken slowly and not rushed.

Of course, the Fool can also show us new friendships as well.  It is not just restricted to new love in terms of the concept of beginnings.  I feel that you may enjoy a new friendship in the near future . . . one that can become even more endearing to you through time.

With the Fool, some kind of a risk is often associated with a situation . . . but it's a risk that you would willingly take.  This is all about following your heart's desire . . . when you're ready to do so.  There is no rushing the energy of the Fool, for while the energy can be somewhat impulsive at times, the choices that are made with care, are the best choices over the impulsive ones.  So this is a card that gives you full freedom and permission to follow your heart's desire . . . but also reminds you to be sure that you "look before you leap" as well.

The Fool can suggest a moment in life when you meet someone new and something special happens.  A spark ignites within, and you want to go with it, despite any risks or consequences that might be involved.  So with this card's energy, it is also important to keep your feet firmly on the ground and not let emotions rule your head.  You can still enjoy the theme of fun and adventure that comes with this energy, but use it wisely so that you are able to make decisions that are good for yourself.

So yes, it does look like you will encounter new relationship opportunities, Chris -- which will likely come through in friendship, but may also arise through potential romantic involvement as well.  This is a card that encourages you to have fun and enjoy the adventures and opportunities ahead!
