Dear Velvet,
Hi, thank you for
doing this.
Myself and my 2 kids have recently moved to a new area. I'm worried about my little girl; she's the eldest and i don't know if she's settling in, she gets picked on a lot. She has a lot of mood swings and tantrums. These are nothing new but have increased and becoming more intense. I have asked for the help i think i need to. and i'm waiting on appointment dates. was just wondering if you picked up on any info on this? thank you again
Kearney
Dear
Kearney,
The Reversed Ace of Swords seems to fit your situation quite well. There is a sense of opposition, struggling, stress, and anxiety within this card . . . and it tends to intensify through inappropriate thoughts, words, or actions. It seems that your daughter is battling an inner struggle, but all of this may not be something she has full control over. This could involve a medical issue and a need for counseling. You have definitely made a loving decision to set up appointments for her and work on finding resolution for this . . . for both your peace of mind and hers.
Your daughter may be having a hard time expressing herself. She may not feel that she is not being truly acknowledged, and when she tries to put feelings into words, those words could be quite "cutting" to those around her. I honestly do not think she does all of this intentionally, but as you are likely seeing, it's something that needs to be gotten under control before it gets further out of hand.
With this reversed card, it seems she may constantly feel opposed and confused by circumstances. She probably hasn't really "settled in" yet to her new environment, and this may explain the increased intensity of the problem. It seems she is feeling embarrassed about something; perhaps she feels different enough from others that she feels a sense of isolation, yet wants to be noticed and liked. She needs to find constructive ways to release the pressure of pent-up emotions, stress, and anxiety -- and this assistance can come from the sources you have contacted for appointments.
It seems that your daughter feels the sense of spinning her wheels and never getting any closer to what she strives for. This can be more than she can stand without reacting . . . but unfortunately the reaction doesn't win her any friends.
From your perspective as a parent, Kearney, you may feel that you are constantly going in circles with your daughter, and I'm sure it must become exhausting. Trying to figure it all out can seem futile. Keep the appointments that you are making. You may learn that your daughter may need some kind of medication, at least on a temporary basis, along with some counseling to help her learn to express herself more positively and how to cope with these feelings within her. Again, I don't think she can help all of this, but through your help in getting her to these appointments, this can be worked on before it gets truly out of hand. I think your child has a lot of wonderful ideas and thoughts in her mind, things she wants to do, to share . . . but a sense of insecurity and not fitting in add to her overall confusion in how to be herself in the company of others. I think there may be something about herself for which she feels embarrassed by -- for example if she's much taller, shorter, thinner, or heavier than other kids her age, her self-image and confidence may be suffering greatly, too.
I wish you and your daughter well :-)
