Dear Velvet,
I am in the process of divorce proceedings and am hoping to get full custody of my children.  My husband left me for another woman.  I am just wondering if I will get my kids.  Winning this drawing came at such a good time for me as I have little money right now and it's just a wonderful blessing that I thank you for.

Dear Meg,

Although you might not be fully satisfied with the final verdict of this matter, I think there will be a lot to be happy about.  The Four of Cups suggests that you and your husband may be granted joint custody rather than you getting sole custody.  I know that's not quite how you wanted it to work, but this is something you should prepare for.  You will still likely be the primary custodian of these children in terms of their living arrangements.  But your husband is likely also to have a fair situation of visitation rights.  Although your husband did you wrong, as long as he can still responsibly take care of the children, that is what the courts will look at.

The Four of Cups suggests that it may take some time for you to readjust to the situation and get settled in your life again, but your children will be with you.  Try not to let worries take you down the path of depression.  Your children are a blessing, and they will be an important part of your life, just as they always have been.  I'm sure you realize that they do still need to see their father -- as long as he does take his responsibilities seriously in that regard.

The energy here wants you to just be prepared for things to possibly not work out in the exact way that you are hoping for.  Things should still be favorable to you, but it does appear that you may feel letdown with a situation of joint custody.  This card represents a time in which you may feel weary and unsatisfied, but give things a chance to see how it can work out for you.  Certainly if you don't feel that a joint custody arrangement works out well for the children, or if you think he has too much time in terms of visitation, you can take it back into court at a later time to be reviewed again.  However, try to give yourself time to adapt to these adjustments in your life and give it a fair chance to see if this will work out for you in the manner that is decided by the court.  The important thing here is that your children will still have both you and their father in their lives, and with things being turned upside down at this time, they really need both of you.
