My question is, Does Ian care for me?

Dear Jan,

It seems that Ian does indeed care for you, although at times you may perhaps feel that it's a one-sided relationship.  This is due to the Eight of Cups which suggests that Ian is trying to let go and walk away from a previous relationship that did not go well.  He must first be able to let go before he can truly begin a new relationship, whether in friendship or more.  It does seem that his past haunts him in some way, but deep inside, he knows it's over and he should move on.

It seems there is a certain shyness about Ian which can also make him hesitate in relationships.  I think for now he sees you as a good friend who can help in emotionally.  It seems that an unexpected event may change his perspective entirely . . . a change for the better that finally allows him to think clearly without clouds from the past.

It seems that Ian is confronted with some serious emotional choices, and sometimes it can be so hard to break away from the past, find a new sense of freedom, and start over.  If you have a romantic interest in Ian, it seems that the question is whether you can endure the sense of stagnation and disappointment that may be present in the relationship.  But regardless of whether a romance evolves, it is apparent that at the very least, a good friendship can be established . . . which may or may not become more -- depending mostly on how Ian deals with the hurts of his past and his readiness to move forward.  With the Eight of Cups, it certainly does seem that he is becoming closer to the point of being prepared to finally take the steps to move forward and embrace the new :-)
