What's in the Cards for Life?

Page of Wands
It seems that life is prepared to give your self-esteem a boost this week.  The experiences which present themselves to you may include new knowledge about yourself and all that you are truly capable of doing.  It's a time to bring out your confidence in yourself and your abilities and let that shine.  You are encouraged to set goals for yourself according to your real ambitions -- not the second rate ambitions you may have previously set for yourself -- but instead, goals that truly reveal your talent and skills.  You just might surprise yourself at how much you actually know and can do!

Remember too that life is an ongoing learning process, and the Page card reminds us of that.  There is always something new to learn and appreciate.  We can't know everything, so don't worry about the things you don't know . . . just be willing to learn when the chance comes up.  Don't hold yourself back on anything because you've put labels on yourself such as "I'm not smart enough" or "I don't know enough."  Change those labels into, "I can learn it" and recognize the things that you do have knowledge about.  Give yourself some credit!  Say "yes" to new experiences!

The Page of Wands tells us that you have creative potential that is yet undeveloped -- but those talents are certainly worth nurturing.  With time, practice, patience, and experience, you can further develop these abilities into something you can honestly be proud of.  This doesn't even have to apply to work scenarios -- it could simply apply to you as a person, a friend, parent, student, etc.  Thus, if you've been considering going back to college . . . this card tells you definitely to GO FOR IT!  Whatever it is that you've been tossing around in your mind to do, now is a good time to embark on that journey.  You have a lot of originality and creativity available to you, so don't be afraid to put it to good use -- even if it just means you plan on doing some redecorating or "spring cleaning" for any season of the year.

It's also possible with this card that you may hear from people you haven't spoken to in awhile.  Old friends or acquaintances could suddenly appear on your doorstep.  They may even bring their children with them.  Be friendly and welcome them if such a visit occurs.  Perhaps a visit may instead come in the form of a phone call from someone you've not heard from in a long time.  You could be involved with children at this time, as the Page is a court card and can signify a child or children that will be prominent in your life this week.

The Page of Wands encourages you to consider what new starts or improvements you would like to pursue.  Consider where it is that you want to begin or what changes you want to implement in your life.  There is no better time than now to try something new or work on making a dream come true for yourself.  Make some plans to succeed this week, and make your week a great one that you are pleased with and excited about -- whatever it is that you are doing :-)

Advice of the Page of Wands:

Don't abandon your goals -- success is truly within your grasp.

Discover what makes you happy and pursue it.

Act as though you are already bold, confident, and successful - and you will eventually become these things.

This is a time to be who you really are, to recognize your potential, and to be honest with yourself.

We can't know everything, so don't worry about the things you don't know . . . just be willing to learn when the chance comes up.

Don't be afraid to try something new.  Whatever it is that you've been tossing around in your mind to do, now is a good time to embark on that journey.

Five of Wands
Relationships may feel touchy and uneasy this week.  You or your partner could pick a fight without meaning to.  A partner may be losing sight of what is important because of petty disagreements.  In some way, you and/or your partner may find yourselves struggling with something in regard to the relationship.  What was supposed to be a cooperative venture is not that way right now.  Instead of teamwork with your partner, you and this person may be at odds with one another.

You may be questioning your role in the relationship that you're in.  This is a time to identify the problems that seem to be at the root of the matter.  You may be wondering if your relationship is really on the right track and if you're getting sufficient support from your significant other.  You find yourself feeling limited, confused, and frustrated.  The relationship itself may be stalled.  You feel anxious, blocked, perturbed, and even "put out" about a matter of concern in the relationship.  When you are feeling like this, it can signify an upcoming break-through with regard to how you conduct your life and how you participate in a relationship.

A lot of issues may open themselves up for questions this week.  Confusion, frustration, dissatisfaction, and a feeling of being "opposed" can influence the way you feel about your partner, yourself, and the state of a relationship overall.  Even when this energy comes through in bits and parts that may be fragmented and not completely clear, it can show up through the problems that you have with someone.  This is a time to get to the root of the issue and figure out why the problems are happening.  There is always a reason, but sometimes the reason is not "out in the open" or obvious.  Other times, the reason is crystal clear.  But regardless, the matter needs to be resolved if the relationship is to continue.  And that may be something you are considering at this time -- whether you want to continue in the relationship . . . or not.

Every now and then, it's recommended that you redefine yourself within the context of a relationship.  You might ask yourself, "Who am I in association with my partner?" . . . "What is my purpose, my role, and my reason for being in this arrangement?"  The answers to these questions can bring insight for the adjustments that are needed in how you conduct yourself in a relationship . . . and perhaps even how you conduct yourself in your daily life.

With the Five of Wands, it may be a time to take a step back and look at the "big picture."  It's possible that you are struggling needlessly.  A few well-timed words and thoughtful moves could enable you to work on the development of a workable structure for your relationship.  The Five of Wands doesn't necessarily imply that a relationship is or will be over -- although in some situations, that may indeed be the case -- but it does signify that there is conflict, and the problems needs to be identified and worked through if two people want to continue together successfully.

With the Five of Wands, your "love life" may be on hold at this time.  It's not an indication of meeting someone new -- or at least, not someone who is right for you.  It's also not a favorable energy for reconciling or reuniting with someone.  The energy is far too intense in a stressful sort of way for that to be a likelihood.

Advice of the Five of Wands:

This is a time to get to the root of a relationship issue and figure out why problems are happening.

Every now and then, it's recommended that you redefine yourself within the context of a relationship.

It may be a time to take a step back and look at the "big picture."  It's possible that you are struggling needlessly.

Eight of Swords
The Eight of Swords can indicate the loss of a job or quitting a job.  There may be a lack of confidence with regard to your work or study . . . or your feeling of frustration with your job is so monumental that you feel blocked at every turn.  Even if you aren't quitting a job, you may wish that you could.  You may feel stuck or deadlocked.  You may be in what feels like a "dead end" job.  This frustration can become overwhelming to the point of wanting to take some sick time . . . or literally leave and walk away from it all.  You may be tired of dealing with one problem or complication after another.  You know you have to have a job to pay the bills, and this "have to" situation makes things feel even worse.

You may be in a position where you say that you want out of an oppressive job or profession, but your actions show that you would rather endure your present restrictions than to deal with adjustments from making a major change.  You or someone else may be griping about a dreaded job, yet are doing nothing to change the situation.  You might view your familiar difficulties and problems as protection against the unknown possibilities that come with making a change and going out into "unknown" territory.  Your misery has become "familiar" to you, even if it's not comfortable.  The idea of changing a situation that you aren't happy with and feel trapped in may be difficult for you to seriously consider.  This is why many people do stay in jobs they hate, and just complain about unhappy circumstances.  They are actually afraid to make a change.

You could change your mind about taking a job you really didn't want anyway, but felt that you had to because of financial considerations.  If this is the case, it's better to realize now that you wouldn't be happy in the job than to commit to it and be miserable.  The extra money is usually not worth that kind of frustration for the long-term.

Only you can decide what must be done about your job situation.  A choice is necessary, despite any overwhelming obstacles or consequences that a change might bring.  If you dislike your job intensely and feel that your work isn't going well, you probably aren't in the right job or career for you . . . and it would be better for you in the long-run to make some new choices now rather than to endure something that makes you miserable and unhappy.  Again, it's not worth the money to stay so stressed all of the time.  If you feel a need to get out of an oppressive situation or change your present line of work, listen to the wisdom of your intuition.  Pay attention to it now, before these feelings get out of hand and make you feel all the more trapped and unhappy.  Use the intellectual wisdom of the Swords to make some better choices so that you don't feel so restricted.

Advice of the Eight of Swords:

It's better to realize now that you wouldn't be happy in a particular job than to commit to it and be miserable.  The extra money is usually not worth that kind of frustration for the long-term.

Reversed Knight of Pentacles
This is a time to be particularly careful in financial dealings.  Closely examine any business deals that are presented.  Money matters could be slow in showing resolution during this time -- perhaps someone owes you money but won't pay up when promised.  It's also best not to consider going into any major debt right now.  Give yourself some more time to think about it first.   Hasty decisions now could create regret later on.

Another possibility with this card is meeting up with fraud, theft, unethical financial dealings, and being cheated by someone.  So just keep your eye open so that you don't unknowingly let yourself get the short end of a deal.  Be wary of those who "want, want, want."  Don't let someone drain you of finances so that there's nothing left for you when you need it!  Be careful of loaning money . . . because it's hard telling when or if you'll get it back.  Someone could try to mooch off you and expect a handout from you.  That will get old very quickly if you've encountered it more often than you would like.

The Reversed Knight of Pentacles indicates a time of instability.  Money matters may be limited.  You may experience financial difficulty in some way.  Money may be held up or a loan or financial assistance doesn't come through.  You may have significant debt that becomes increasingly difficult to meet.  Business deals need to be examined closely.  Make sure that you don't get caught up in "get-rich-quick" schemes or multi-level marketing ventures that will not pay off for you.

This is not a good time to gamble.  You need to keep your wits about you and be aware.  Financial activities may need your attention.  This is a time to take a look at the big picture of things.  Carefully check every detail to be certain that what you see is actually what you are getting.  There may be errors in statements, balances, or other figures.  If a contract is involved, make sure you read the fine print and understand it.  If there is anything in the document or contract that you don't understand, then ask questions.  If issues still seem sketchy and unclear, take the paperwork to someone who is knowledgeable about the issue and can render sound advice about what is going on.  Refuse to enter any agreement that doesn't suit your needs.

If you are trying to accomplish a particular desire or goal, you may have been experiencing a chronic lack of resources that limit you in your endeavors.  The money and means aren't there for some reason.  If you are trying to come up with "start-up costs" for a venture, you probably cannot reasonably get the money for that particular venture.  And with this energy, consider too that maybe it's in your best interests that you aren't able to come up with the money for a particular venture that sounds good.  It might not be as good as it sounds!  Poor money management and bad financial habits are a factor with this reversed energy.  You or someone else may be making impractical and irresponsible decisions that will negatively impact a financial situation.  Think very carefully before you engage in something that will affect your money.
