The author of this deck based her work on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, which is illustrated symbolically on the backs of the cards. Each of the minor arcana has a key word printed on it, although it is not meant as a rigid definition, but rather a flexible indicator to stimulate intuition. The author encourages the use of intuition when interpreting the cards, thus it is not necessary to have a working knowledge in the study of kabbala to use this deck.
One of the unique aspects of this deck is that the minor arcana do not portray people, for the most part. Instead, each image is designed around a large number corresponding to the number of the card. For example, the 2 of Disks (shown in the image above) shows a large number 2 with the picture displayed around that number. You can also see how the 8 of Wands' image shows 8 wands speeding around the number eight -- a card that indicates a lot of energy in addition to the key word "Speed." The court cards do still portray a person, however, and they display key words as well. These are attractive cards and represent a specific personality for each one.
As there is no nudity in this deck, it would be a good choice to use in readings for a wide variety of clients.
