The Osho Zen Tarot is subtitled, "The Transcendental Game of Zen."  It's a beautiful, inspiring, and thought-provoking deck.  The goal of this deck is awareness.  It encourages one to tune into sensitivity, intuition, receptivity, compassion, courage, and individuality.  It is also considered to be an ideal deck for meditation, and it focuses on a better understanding of the here and now . . . and also how outer world events reflect our own thoughts and feelings, even when we are unclear about these feelings and what they are.

I am very impressed with the art in this deck.  It's just amazing, and even though I don't personally share all the beliefs of Osho's teachings, one doesn't have to hold all the same ideas and beliefs in order to appreciate the beauty, inspiration, and usefulness of this outstanding Tarot deck!  Anyone who is seeking enlightenment, inspiration, personal transformation, or a deeper understanding of one's self or life issues can experience a unique new perspective with these cards.  The messages of this Tarot system can offer a change for the better in the quality of life.

Those on a spiritual journey have claimed these cards to be wonderful guides.  The Osho Zen Tarot helps one to find clarity and truth in a situation of concern.  Whether you are seeking a means of spiritual insight or just seek to do/receive an insightful and enlightening Tarot reading, these exquisite cards offer incredible art that is a pleasure to work with.  Each card from this deck is a vibrant and colorful delight to view.

Some of the cards from this deck can easily be recognized when compared to a traditional Tarot deck; yet many others are very different.  Although the book offers only upright meanings for the cards, I have no problem in using reversals with this deck.  That is, of course, a matter of personal choice for a reader in whether to use reversals, regardless of the deck.  Reversals in this deck will often refer to areas that are blocked, delayed, or need attention.

I can really get a lot from this deck.  It's appealing on a variety of levels -- within the beautiful imagery, you can find animals, dolphins, butterflies, flowers, nature, stars, moon, and many other pretty scenes.  All of the images help you to go beyond the surface and look within . . . and through such imaginative and thought-provoking cards, you can explore your situation and concerns in an insightful manner.  The cards seem to just grab your attention and make you really look . . . and think about the message being offered.

The Major Arcana cards have a numbered purple diamond at the bottom of each card, while the Minor Arcana also have color-coded diamonds for each suit:  Water diamonds are blue; Fire diamonds are red; Cloud diamonds are grey (traditional suit name of Swords); and Rainbow diamonds are rainbow-colored (Earth/Pentacles correspondence).  Court cards also inlcude the colored diamond, but instead of a number within the diamond, these have a triangle enclosed within the diamond -- the triangle points left for Pages, right for Knights, down for Queens, and up for Kings.  All cards contain a descriptive title or keyword below the diamond.  The color of the diamonds are the clue as to which suit the card falls in, or whether it's a Major Arcana card.

The image above of "Mother Nature" is not associated with the Osho Zen Tarot . . . but it's such a pretty image that seemed fitting for this particular Tarot theme that I couldn't resist including it here :-)
