Note: This deck should not be confused with Tarot Art Nouveau by Matt Myers. You may find that deck by clicking here.
The lovely artistic cards and graceful figures contained within make this a very beautiful Tarot deck. It's done in the classical art nouveau style, and it's gorgeous! The images are colorful without being too bright. In this deck, you'll find more images of women than in a traditionally styled deck of Tarot. And you'll find quite a bit of nudity . . . so be forewarned if that is something that may offend you if you are seeking a reading -- or if you read for sensitive clients. However, I think the art is very tastefully done, and for me and most others, it's not offensive at all. But each person has different likes and dislikes, so it's something to keep in mind.
The Major Arcana of this deck follow traditional Tarot titles, with the only exceptions being the Lovers (called "The Lover" in this deck) and the Star (called "The Stars" in this one) -- still a very close match. Justice is 8 and Strength is 11 in this deck. The Italian title is noted in the bottom border of the cards, and the English, French, German, and Spanish titles appear in the upper corners. The open borders featured on the card design gives a "free-flowing" feeling to the cards.
I especially like this deck for readings concerning romance and relationships. There is a sense of grace and sensuality, a sense of playfulness, yet also a sense of importance that comes through in the Tarot's message with these cards.
I would recommend this deck to anyone with an interest in classical or art nouveau styles of art. Collectors may also be interested in owning this deck. It's probably not a good recommendation for the beginner to Tarot, however, as much confusion could initially be a problem to new Tarot students who try to use this as an only deck. However, if this is a secondary deck and used in comparison with a traditional deck, then this can allow for deeper insight into the cards and offer a new perspective for matters of the heart.
The cards are visually pleasing and are a delight to work with, especially for questions about romance and relationships.
