© 2004 US Games Systems, Inc. If you like the Spiral Tarot you're sure to love the Celestial Tarot, another deck by Kay Steventon. The Spiral Tarot was her first, and now she presents us with a fascinating new deck with non-traditional images that are directly associated with astrology, planets, and the constellations. The Celestial Tarot deck will probably appeal most to those who are astrologically-minded as well as those who are familiar with Greek mythology. Compared to traditional Tarot decks, this one is complex enough that I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner, but the more experienced reader may especially enjoy this one. A lot of detail went into the art for this deck, and it's not just the Major Arcana cards that are finely detailed. All of the cards are rich in detail. It's fascinating to look at these cards, as they make me wonder just how much mystery one might unravel if she keeps looking! As you look through the little white book which accompanies the card pack, you'll find some unusual twists to the interpretations as this is not a traditional form of Tarot, but the information provided in the little booklet can also add to your store of knowledge or offer you a new concept about a card for which you might not have previously considered or thought about. On page 5 of the little white booklet, Brian Clark does a fine job at introducing the Celestial Tarot and giving you a "feel" about it's essence: "Embedded in our night sky are archetypal images, symbols, and stories that have enchanted and inspired the human soul for aeons. Onto this sanctuary of the sky the ancients projected their imagination using the star-patterns to animate their myths and create the skyscape that shapes the imagery of Celestial Tarot. Underpinning the seventy-eight cards of Celestial Tarot are the ancient traditions of astrology, astronomy, and mythology. The Tarot is now projected onto the wide canvas of the heavens allowing the astrology, mythology, and symbolism of the planets and constellations to inspire the cards. Celestial Tarot makes a great impact as it not only amplifies and widens the meaning of contemporary cards but also utilizes the oldest forms of divination."
