Tarot of Timeless Truth is a deck which I eagerly waited for during the time of its printing and publication . . . and it's every bit as beautiful and insightful as I felt it would be -- perhaps even more so, because it's one thing to see card images on a website, and quite another to actually be able to hold the cards in your hands!

I love the images in this deck . . . they seem so real and lifelike!  The pictures speak volumes to me in each and every card.  It's as if they come to life before my very eyes!  In fact, I had quite a time trying to narrow it down to just 6 card for this review.  I like to include two major cards, an ace, a court card, and then 2 additional cards to represent one card from each of the four suits of Tarot.  So it was a challenge as I kept changing my mind about which of the beautiful cards to present as sample images.

Leila Vey, the author of this outstanding Tarot deck, has put a lot of love, care, creativity, and beauty into her work.  Her efforts have created a deck which I will always treasure.  This is definitely a Tarot deck which can be richly rewarding for anyone who uses it or receives a reading with it.

This amazing author was rightfully picky when it came to the printing of her deck.  She wanted it to be just right in the way she intended to convey it.  So when there were initial printing problems with colors that were not quite right, she had it redone to ensure the quality of presentation.  This tells me a great deal about how much Leila Vey cared about her creation and how it would come to life in front of others.  It had to be right . . . and it is!!

Tarot of Timeless Truth is printed on quality card stock that has held up well for repeated use and shuffling.  Each card is a high-resolution scan using photo collages of real people in surroundings that are fitting for each individual card.  They are so fascinating to look at and explore.  By seeing Leila's work, you can really appreciate the insight from the cards . . . how each one speaks to you in so many ways -- not something you fully get from your average Tarot deck traditions.

Some have compared this deck to the similar works of the Sacred Circle Tarot by Anna Franklin and Paul Mason.  That is also a deck which I enjoy, yet Tarot of Timeless Truth seems to contain even more detail and symbolism that is both subtle and obvious.

The Major Arcana cards of Timeless Truth are presented with the card title in a banner at the bottom of the card.  An important keyword is noted in the lower right.  At the bottom left, the author has also included a small Kabbalistic emblem of the tree of life with the corresponding paths of each card marked.  Also listed on the Majors next to the tree of life symbol is the Hebrew letter for the card, the astrological sign or planet associated with the card, and Runes correspondence.

The Minors are presented with the title of the card in a banner at the top and an important keyword listed at the bottom.  Court cards have their titles noted in a banner at the top of each card.

Leila Vey offers an excellent way to work with her cards.  In her accompanying book, she includes a section called "Ask Yourself This."  It involves asking questions about how the energy of a card fits into your life.  Thus, each card really gets to speak for itself and allows you to get to know the cards in a very meaningful and personal way.

For those who insist on tradition when it comes to Tarot, this deck still offers some traditional scenes . . . but in my opinion, it's so much better.  I would not call this a "traditional" Tarot deck by any means, but it's so well done that it can be used for all levels of Tarot students and readers.  It's much more realistic and lifelike, so using this deck is very insightful, allowing you to take yourself into a new realm of deeper meanings with the cards.  This is one of the things I truly love about Tarot of Timeless Truth.  The stunning images are an invitation to explore as far as you desire to go.  When I use these cards, I feel as if I'm taking an active part in the card scenes where I can step in or leave at my will.  The images make me want to ask questions of the people in the cards . . . a technique that can be helpful to Tarot beginners.

Tarot of Timeless Truth quickly became one of my favorite decks, so of course, I can't say enough wonderful things about it.  The only thing that might possibly be considered a "flaw" with the cards are the little nubbies on the sides from separation after printing.  But for me, it's hardly even noticeable -- I'm too wrapped up in the stunning images to take notice of something so insignificant.  These cards have a way of telling me so much -- and this more than compensates for what might be perceived by some as a little flaw.

The true spirit of Tarot is revealed to me in this fascinating Tarot deck.  It comes to life for me in a way no other deck has really done.  From the first time I saw the images of the cards, I felt with a certainty this would be "the deck" . . . and I'm pleased to find how right I was with that feeling of "knowing" that this was the deck for me!
