Thank you for stopping by to visit Tarot Wisdom Readings! I'm Velvet Angel, a professional Tarot reader who has been serving seekers of life since the late 1990's. I am the sole owner, webmaster, and reader at Tarot Wisdom Readings which was established in 2001.

While most people know me as Velvet Angel, or simply "Velvet" for short, my given name is Sharon. In my early years of working with the Tarot, I was a volunteer reader on a free reading site which required us to use a nickname. After becoming a popular reader on that network, the nickname ended up sticking and became a part of my brand as a Tarot reader.

I'm a really down-to-earth person who enjoys helping others, and more specifically, I love to "help people to help themselves." That's really what Tarot is all about, because while it cannot magically fix our problems in life for us, it's an amazing way to empower each of us to help ourselves and to grow into who we really want to be.

My mission is to empower seekers and their choices through the wisdom of the Tarot cards. I am a strong believer in each one of us being masters of our own destinies through the choices we make, rather than fate being set in stone. The tarot cards provide a map and direction, but you're the one in control of writing the next chapters and the ultimate outcome of a situation.

Even when you encounter things (and people) in life that you cannot directly control, you are always encouraged to look at that which is within your own control -- including the power you hold over your choice of attitude in any circumstance.

I am the author of the "Tarot Journal of Wisdom" series which consists of 7 textbooks on the Tarot, offering a comprehensive self-study course to learn how to read the Tarot cards. More information about the study course can be found at www.studytarot.com.

My professional online presence since May 2001 has allowed me to journey across the continents via the Internet to meet so many wonderful new friends, clients, and fellow tarot readers. I am based in the United States, but my services extend across the world for anyone who can speak English.

In late 2011, Tarot Wisdom Readings was reborn! I have done a complete site make-over and restructure to keep up with the modern day. A lot has changed since the initial birth of Tarot Wisdom Readings in 2001. After a decade of service, it was time for the face of this website to change and reflect the modern day business age.

Tarot, Angels, and various other oracles have been a part of my personal and professional life for more than a decade, and Tarot remains my all-time favorite consultation resource, with Angels cards coming in at a very close second preference. As of January 2007, my website work and reading services became my full-time job. I left my position in an insurance company where I had worked for nearly 11 years in order to pursue my passion of card reading and the development of my site and services. I have clients and friends throughout the USA and across the world, so this continues to be a very exciting and rewarding venture for me.

Currently under development (as of December 2011) is another website labor of love called The Website Mentor in which I will be offering all kinds of free information to help website beginners become more adept in building a website of their own. This latest development is in response to the many questions I continue to receive with regard to how to start a website, whether in the Tarot niche or another one. My Passion for the Tarot Cards

in the Tarot My passion for Tarot cards began in the late 90's when I started studying the Tarot extensively. It was a very challenging time in my life -- a time in which I wanted answers and knew that perhaps "conventional" answers weren't really what I was seeking. I was quite fascinated with the Tarot as I also explored various beliefs about what the cards could or couldn't do.

I developed my own philosophy about the Tarot through my extensive and dedicated work with them through the years. The cards are wonderful guides that could be viewed as "philosophy in a box" or "the book of life." Used as a tool for constructive purposes, the Tarot can enlighten us with possibilities, forecasts, or predictions (whatever one might wish to call it -- although I do not personally label it as fortune telling, because nothing is ever set in concrete).

The Tarot does not take away our free will and choices in life, nor does it make our decisions for us. We are each responsible for the choices we make. Our fates or destinies are not set in stone! In fact, the cards will provide a story and a map of our situations and lives. It will provide us some insightful wisdom, compassion, and even some tough loving advice when we really need that. It will provide us some optional directions that we can take if we choose to do so. . . . and from there, it's up to us to write the next chapters and the ultimate ending of our stories.

We choose our own destinies through the choices we make. What we do (or don't do) today can influence our tomorrows.

A Tarot reading will help to open up possibilities and potentials for which you may not have been previously aware. It can offer suggestions and advice . . . but you are always free to choose whichever direction you want. You are free to write the next chapter of your life experiences through the choices and actions that you take in the present.

That's the wonderful thing about the gift of free will . . . you always get to choose for yourself. Never let anyone take that gift from you . . . not a psychic, a tarot reader, an astrologer, or anyone else. You have choices, and if you don't understand or see the choices in front of you, the Tarot can help. It never tells you what you have to do, but it will offer suggestions or advice as needed . . . and from a more empowered mindset, you get to choose what is right for you.

Angels At My Side

My interest in angels became heightened early in 2002 after the passing of my beloved mother. Having only my husband and son close to me, and my brother and his two children who lived far from me, this was my only family -- or so I felt at the time. Of course, I had many friends, but the idea of "family" seemed so limited in my life. I soon discovered that I was far from being alone!

Although I have always believed in the angels, their welcomed presence became especially prominent in my life after losing my mother. I was never afraid when I felt an unexplained gentle breeze on the back of my neck. I was not afraid when I felt the gentle touch of an angel who put his/her hand on my shoulder. And I was blessed when an angel sat with me in my car on my way to work one dark, snowy morning when my car headlights stopped working. I felt completely calm and unafraid as I found my way to the side of the highway and called my husband for assistance from my cell phone. Incidentally, I was guided to get that cell phone just the day before the road trouble.

The angels have been such a comfort in my life. I do not see them in physical form, but I feel their presence very strongly in my life every day. I cannot hear physical words from them, but they speak to my heart very clearly and concisely. They are the guiding forces in my life . . . they are my family . . . and what a blessing it is to know them and to be closer to them than I have ever felt before.

Feeling the presence of my angels is not such a surprise, I suppose, when even as a little girl, spirits spoke to me. I saw spirits and ghosts, which at the time did frighten me, being only 4 years old when these entities started coming to my attention. My poor mother didn't know what to do with me when I pointed out what I was seeing, while she could not see it herself. For some, "seeing is believing," and that's the only way they will roll.

So if you wonder if I believe in ghosts . . . the answer is a definite yes!

My Life Purpose

All of the oracles that I work with bring a calming energy to me. I have great passion and commitment to the work that I do, and as this is my full-time job, it's a wonderful exchange between myself and clients. For myself, I can't think of a better way to earn a living than doing what I love to do. It's an opportunity to help others as friend, coach, guide, and intuitive reader. It's an honor that I cherish, and I am grateful that the universe pointed me to my life purpose.

I don't consider myself to be just your reader . . . I'm your friend too . . . and I'll listen to you and give your reading my personal and undivided attention . . . because I care! It's very important to me to offer you a quality, professional reading that helps you with whatever issue or situation you are dealing with. I don't just send you a list of Tarot meanings and let you try to muddle through it all and figure it out.

Instead, I will help you sort through the messages within the cards and apply it accordingly to your specific situation. My readings are done the old-fashioned way by hand. I don't like the computer generated readings at all . . . they just seem so unreal to me. I am a reader who likes to hold the cards in my hands and shuffle them . . . not watch a computer program do it all for me. So what you get is the REAL thing at Tarot Wisdom Readings . . . and by an experienced reader who is very real and down to earth as well.

All information you relate to me is held in the strictest of confidence and used only for the purpose of doing your reading.
